I want to release a continuation of my collection of works dedicated to “Forest insects” released in 2019. I want to visit Death Valley National Park, Coso Range Wilderness, Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks, and Inyo National Forest.

to Create a collection of art photo works that will help me :

  • To sell the new wall prints or the digital files on different platforms in the future
  • To take part in exhibitions and increase my rates for clients
  • To promote my personal brand with the collaboration with the brands of the gear
  • To increase my professional photography level
  • To be published in the magazines
  • To practice in organization abilities and to do in future more big projects.

Also I got the request from brand of filters for the camera lenses

I’m excited to share that a renowned brand of camera lens filters has invited me to create the next chapter of my photo series, "Forest Insects 2.0".

For this project, I had the incredible opportunity to photograph the magical transformation of autumn and winter remnants—dry leaves, fallen fruits, and plant branches—into whimsical, fairy-tale creatures.

These "forest insects" came to life in the breathtaking landscapes of Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks, Death Valley National Park, Coso Range Wilderness, and Inyo National Forest. Through the lens, the natural elements were reborn as extraordinary forest dwellers, capturing the enchanting beauty of nature and the hidden wonders within these iconic national parks.

Uniquness of this trip

All of these natural attractions - Death Valley National Park, Coso Range Wilderness, Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks and Inyo National Forest - are located in the western part of the United States, mainly in California and partly in Nevada.

They combine several unique and common features:

  • Geographic proximity: All of these objects are located in close proximity to each other, in southeastern California and western Nevada, which makes them convenient for travelers interested in nature and hiking.
  • Unusual Natural Landscapes: Each of these places is famous for its unique natural landscapes, which may include desert areas, mountains, gorges, and alpine forests.
  • Conservation of nature and ecosystems: All of these areas are part of federal nature reserves or national parks, protected by law. This helps preserve the unique ecosystems and biodiversity of the region.
  • Hiking & Outdoor Activities: All of these places offer hikers and outdoor enthusiasts hiking, camping, mountain climbing, and other outdoor activities such as wildlife watching, photography, and exploring natural features.

quick advantages of the location

  • Death Valley - a hot desert with salt fields and colorful landscapes.
  • Coso Range Wilderness - a mountainous area with rare ecosystems and unique plant species.
  • Sequoia & Kings Canyon - home to giant sequoias and alpine forests.
  • Inyo National Forest - a huge forest area with diverse flora and fauna, including regions with alpine landscapes.

What all of these places have in common is their natural significance and unique landscapes, which are part of the great ecosystem diversity of the western United States. They provide rare species of flora and fauna, often combining desert, mountain, and forest ecosystems, making each place important for scientific research and nature tourism.

However, each of these areas has its own unique features, whether it is the hottest temperature on Earth (Death Valley), ancient rock art (Coso Range), giant trees (Sequoia & Kings Canyon), or the oldest forests (Inyo National Forest).

ABOUT author

Hi, I`m Mariia YESIONOVA

Cinematic engagement | elopement | wedding photographer in Toronto

I was born and raised in Ukraine, Zaporozhue city.

I moved to Toronto in March 2024, because of the war. I love my beautiful country and I condemn this war.

I have done photoshoots for over 7 years, I love it so it feels like I’ve been doing it all my life. I get inspired by capturing real emotions and life stories into an image where the warm memories can be kept forever.

My only ask is to relax and let loose your emotions to be on the same wavelength and enjoy the ride with me.

SIMPLE BEAUTY

I take the camera and go to look for beauty in your usual world.

Our life is full of moments that we would like to keep in our memory and return again and again to those moments of happiness, freedom, and spark in the heart, to experience this state anew.

I will help you capture the particles of happiness and sparkle in your eyes, convey how happy you are at this moment in your life, and frame these memories in photos.

I like to shoot in usual live conditions, for example, on city streets, or at home.
Wearing casual clothes and minimal make-up will highlight your true beauty.
